Aeres Guitar Quartet
The AERES GUITAR QUARTET was founded in 2021 during their studies at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden.
The four musicians – Liss Alva (Germany), Margaréta Lakner (Hungary), Masha Sova (Russia), and Luisa Khandro (Germany) – share a passion for continually exploring the possibilities of the classical guitar. With their own arrangements, compositions, and innovative playing techniques, they create their distinctive sound.
The four musicians captivate with virtuosic interplay, audible joy of playing, and an engaging stage presence. Their concerts promise variety that appeals to both lovers of classical music and curious explorers of new sounds.

What does it sound like when four guitarists from three nations rethink classical ensemble music?
The AERES GUITAR QUARTET provides an impressive response to this:
A special focus of her work is on compositions by women composers. These are at the heart of her debut album COALESCENCE, which will be released in the autumn. The title represents the merging of different musical ideas, cultural influences, and personal styles into a cohesive whole. At the same time, COALESCENCE describes the shared developmental process of the ensemble: Over four years of studying together at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden, four individual musicians have grown into a closely connected quartet. This musical and personal coming together continues to shape the ensemble’s artistic identity and forms the foundation of their collaborative music-making.

Luisa Khandro
Since Luisa Khandro was five years old, the guitar has been her constant companion. She received her first lessons at the music school in Neusäß near Augsburg before switching to Stephan Schmidt. Since 2021, she has been studying at the University of Music in Dresden. This year, she is expected to complete her bachelor’s degree in Dresden.

Masha Sova
Masha Sova began playing the guitar at the age of nine in her hometown of St. Petersburg, Russia. At 17, she moved to Hungary to study classical guitar. After earning her first bachelor’s degree there, she decided to further deepen her musical skills. Therefore, in 2021, she started her studies at the University of Music in Dresden. This year, she is expected to complete her second bachelor’s degree and is currently preparing for a subsequent master’s program.

Margaréta Lakner
Margaréta Lakner received early classical training in concert guitar, including several years at the Music High School in Szeged, Hungary. In 2019, she began her studies at the University of Music in Dresden. After completing her bachelor’s degree in 2024, she will finish her master’s degree the following year.
